Bluehost Review 2021

Bluehost Review 2021

Bluehost is one of the world’s best hosting platforms. Of course there are other hosts out there, but Bluehost is very well known. A little bit about the company. In 2003 Bluehost was founded. It has a team of over 750 people to help customers with their sites 24/7. Over 2 million people have chosen Bluehost to host their websites. This is Bluehost Review for 2021.

Silver Laptop and White Cup on Table

Uptime: When you’re choosing a hosting company, it’s uptime is critical. A lot of the sites claim they can deliver 99.9%. This number looks good at first, but this can be over forty minutes a month where you’ll have downtime. The average uptime with Bluehost is 99.98% and the average response time is an impressive 1085ms. These two values were the average over a three year period. A good value would be anything higher than 99.95%. In addition to the speed and uptime Bluehost is a very reliable performer.

Bluehost Review 2021 – Ease of Use

Bluehost excels at the ease of use in their hosting. I think their platform may be even easier to use than GoDaddy. The features and user interface are super easy to navigate. One area that Blue host has an edge on GoDaddy is pricing. GoDaddy has a reputation of keeping their prices low for the first year and then applying all these extra charges afterwards. Bluehost will let you know exactly what you’re paying for. Bluehost is almost designed for WordPress. It’s what I use. You get a free domain name, FTP, email, and more. Bluehost also offers support by WordPress experts 24/7. Installing WordPress is very quick and efficient. You have the option of building a new site or transferring an existing one. Bluehost makes it easy to access and manage your WordPress dashboard. Again Bluehost is very easy to use when you want to manage your account, add ons, payment methods, and purchases. And if easy is what you’re looking for, Bluehost is a great choice.

Bluehost Review 2021 – Shared Hosting

So Bluehost offers three types of hosting: shared web hosting, dedicated server hosting, and virtual private server (VPS) hosting. Shared hosting allows you to share a server’s resources with other sites. The other two options include dedicated resources. But you will pay more for these plans.

For shared hosting Bluehost offers four plans. The Basic Plan is for users who just want to host just one site. It includes a free domain for one year, 50 GB SSD storage, one website, free SSL certificate, 24/7 customer support, custom themes, and free CDN included. This plan starts at $7.99/month.

The next plan is the Plus for $10.99/month. It offers everything the Basic plan offers except you get unlimited websites and unlimited SSD storage. It also includes free Office 365 for 30 days.

The Choice Plus plan is 14.99/month and offers everything the Plus offers including free Domain Privacy and Free Automated Backup.

For $23.99/month you can purchase the Pro plan. This offers everything the Choice Plus offers but also optimized CPU resources and a free dedicated IP.

These prices are for a 36 month period.

If you plan to use hosting for more than a year, Bluehost as an affordable option compared to it’s competition.

Bluehost Review 2021 – Shared Hosting Features:

Even for one website, 50 GB of storage is quite generous. Also the storage is SSD, which is higher quality than older HDD storage. For the entry level option, you get one domain and SSL. The higher plans that cost more just make things unlimited with better security. Overall the Shared Plans are a good choice with and they are reasonably priced.

And because Bluehost has become a popular hosting option it has partnered with other companies meaning you can get added discounts.

VPS Hosting:

Next we will discuss Virtual Private Server Hosting – The Standard plan is $29.99/month and includes 2 cores, 30 GB SSD storage, 2 GB RAM, 1 TB Bandwidth, and 1 IP Address.

The Enhanced plan costs $59.99/month and comes with 2 cores, 60 GB SSD Storage, 4 GB RAM, 2 TB Bandwidth, and 2 IP Addresses.

The Ultimate plan costs $119.99/month and comes with 4 cores, 120 GB SSD Storage, 8GB RAM, 3 TB Bandwidth, and 2 IP Addresses.

Compared to its competitors, Bluehosts Virtual Private Server prices are fairly low.

Dedicated Server Hosting:

Next we’re going to discuss the dedicated server plans:

The Standard plan runs at $119.99/month and includes 4 cores running at 2.3 GHz, 500 GB mirrored storage, 4 GB RAM, 5 TB Bandwidth, and 3 IP addresses.

The Enhanced plan starts at $159.99/month and includes 4 cores running at 2.5 GHz, 1 TB mirrored storage, 8 GB RAM, 10 TB Bandwidth, and 4 IP addresses.

The last plan is the Premium at $209 .99/month that includes 4 cores at 3.3 GHz, 1 TB mirrored storage, 16 GB RAM, 15 TB Bandwidth, and 5 IP Addresses.

Customer Support:

Compared to other hosting companies, customer support with Bluehost is very good. However the knowledge base could be better. Other companies include more detailed articles in their support. But for communicating with support representatives over the phone, Bluehost is king.

The usual way to get service is to create a ticket. This can be done if you want in depth answers to serious problems. If you encounter a problem, you have several ways to deal with it: tickets, live chat, and phone support.

Security – Bluehost uses tools for protection: SSL, a dedicated IP, spam protection, SiteLock, and more. But Bluehost still doesn’t say much about it’s security.

Conclusion:

Pros:

  • Easy to use and navigate.
  • Really great customer support
  • Bluehost performs well
  • Very compatible with WordPress
  • Comes with affordable plans

Cons:

  • For technical support you can only use phone and live chat, no tickets.
  • A simple user interface could be a turnoff for some.
  • Bluehost does not reveal much about it’s security practices.

In the end, Bluehost is a great hosting product, and has affordable plans for most everyone. I would definitely recommend it to those people new to hosting.

Hope this helped you!
